Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a GC method for the determination of residual organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, ether, benzene, pyridine and toluene in benproperine phosphate. METHODS A headspace gas chromatography method was developed using a DB-5 capillary column. RESULTS The average recoveries were 95.5%, 101.4%, 95.8%, 93.6%, 92.1% and 94.0% and the detection limits were estimated to be 0.5, 0.18, 0.06, 0.005, 2.3 and 0.06 μg. CONCLUSION The method was rapid, sensitive and reliable.
