Study on Forming Process of Jiannao Soft Capsules

OBJECTIVE To study the forming process of Jiannao soft capsules. METHODS The matrix and capsule material of Jiannao soft capsules were selected by single-factor test method. Using the liquidity, cut off and sedimentation volume ratio as the indicator for the soft capsules contents prescription screening. RESULTS Use soybean oil as matrix, per 1 000 grain of soft capsules were processed by adding supercritical fluid extract 173 g, extract 171 g, beeswax 25 g, palm oil 15 g, soy lecithin 15 g, and the mixture of gelatin-glycerol-water(2∶1∶2) was used as capsule wall material. CONCLUSION The process is stable and easy to operate, and will be useful for large-scale production.
