    Photophysical Properties of Zinc 2(3),9(10),16(17),23(24)-Tetra(Trifluoroethoxy) Phthalocyaninate

    • OBJECTIVE The absorption spectral properties, fluorescence spectral properties and the singlet oxygen quantum yield in photo-induced chemical processes of Zinc 2(3),9(10),16(17),23(24)-tetra (trifluoroethoxy) phthalocyaninate (ZnPcF) were determined. METHODS UV and fluorescence spectrophotometrics were used to measure the UV spectrum, fluorescence spectrum. The concentration variation of singlet oxygen probe 9, 10-dimethylanthracene were measured by fluorescence spectrophotometric method to calculate the singlet oxygen quantum yield of ZnPcF. RESULTS There was certain magnitude of the redshift in absorption and fluorescence spectra of ZnPcF relative to unsubstituded ZnPc. The molar extinction coefficient of ZnPcF (ε) is 1.65×104 L·mol-1·cm-1, the fluorescence quantum yield is 0.197 and the singlet oxygen quantum yield is 0.547. CONCLUSION ZnPcF showed a very high molar extinction coefficient, fluorescence and singlet oxygen quantum yield with promising anti-tumor prospects for the further research.
