    Preliminary Safety Evaluation of Salvia Miltiorrhiza Injection in Its Clinical Application

    • OBJECTIVE To generally evaluate the clinical security of the Salvia Miltiorrhiza injection. METHODS Collect statistics and research on the inpatient cases of Salvia Miltiorrhiza injection in people’s hospital of Yuebei during the period of April and December 2008. RESULTS Based on the 968 inpatient cases of SMI collected which involved 19 departments and 30-odd diseases, whilst ADR occurred in 12 cases (1.2% among the total). The rate of negative-effect was utmost reduced when the applications followed the instructions of symptom, procedure and dosage. CONCLUSION The security of clinical application of SMI would be enhanced by accurate operations that are strictly in line with the instructions of treatment.
