Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Brinzolamide combined Timolol for treating the patients with open-angle glaucoma. METHODS 52 eyes of 30 cases of patients with open-angle glaucoma were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group was given treatment of 1% Brinzolamide combined 0.25% Timolol eye drops. The control group was given treatment of 0.25% Timolol eye drops, Comparison the two eye drops to lower intraocular pressure and side effects. RESULTS After 2, 6, 12 weeks of treatment, the intraocular pressure of the two groups decreased, compared with the pre- treatment the difference was significant (P<0.05). Compared with the control group and the treatment group there was significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, there wasn’t inhibition of blood pressure and heart rate in the treatment group. The control group had no blood pressure changes, but there were inhibition of heart rate. There were no significant adverse reactions and systemic side effects of the two groups. CONCLUSION Brinzolamide combined Timolol for treating the patients with open-angle glaucoma has significant anti-glaucoma effect, and no adverse reaction. It is worthy of clinical application.
