Studies on Flavonoids from Gynura bicolor DC.

OBJECTIVE To isolate and identify the flavonoids from Gynura bicolor DC.. METHODS Compounds were isolated from the leaves of G. bicolor DC. by different kinds of column chromotagraphy, their structure were identified with physicochemical properties and spectral data. RESULTS These compounds were identified as: quercetin (I), kaempherol (II), quercitrin (III), isoquercitrin (IV) and rutin (V). CONCLUSION Compounds I, III and IV were obtained from this plant for the first time.
