Study of Adverse Reactions and Countermeasures of Rosuvastatin

OBJECTIVE To guarantee the rational use of medicines, the adverse reactions (ADRs) of rosuvastatin were analyzed and countermeasures were proposed in the study. METHODS In searching of medical journals around the world from 2002 to 2009, the ADRs of rosuvastatin were summarized and analyzed. RESULTS Many ADRs were reported in these articles, such as rhabdomyolysis, liver toxicity, renal toxicity, pharyngitis, headache, flu-like symptoms and so on. CONCLUSION More attention should be paid to ADRs of rosuvastatin to ensure the safety of clinical use. In order to reduce ADRs of rosuvastatin, summary information on countermeasures was provided. For example, mastering the dose, keeping in mind the contraindications, doing inspection(such as the detection of creatine kinase level and liver function), were all good measures.
