Determination of Metronidazole in Metronidazole Tablets by HPLC

OBJECTIVE To establish an HPLC method for the determination of metronidazole in metronidazole tablets.METHODS XDB column was used with methanol and water(20∶80)as mobile phase.RESULTS There was a good linear relationship(r=0.999 9)when metronidazole was between 33.28 μg to 332.8 μg.The average recovery was 99.8%.The method was simple and convenient,accurate and feasible.CONCLUSION It could be used in the determination of metronidazole in metronidazole tablets.
