Adsorptive Effect of the Attapulgite on Chlorogenic Acid and Arctiin in Decoction

    • OBJECTIVE To study the adsorptive influence of attapulgite as adsorptive clarifier on chlorogenic acid and arctiin in traditional Chinese medicine decoction, and investigate the clarified effect of attapulgite on ineffective components. METHODS Using the contents of chlorogenic acid, arctiin, extracta and clarity of solution as indexes, the water extraction of honeysuckle flower, great burdock achene and yinqiao jiedu granules were treated with different amount acidified and common attapulgite respectively. Further, these adsorptive effects were evaluated. RESULTS Attapulgite had a significant clarified effect on ineffective components, the reservatinon of chlorogenic acid was preferable, and arctiin was adsorpted with low amount. Acidified attapulgite was better than common attapulgite in clearing ineffective compontents. CONCLUSION Attapulgite can be used as adsorptive clarifier in the water extraction of yinqiao jiedu granules, especially, more modification evidences of surface structure about acided attapulgite would be awaited to study.
