Study on the Processing Methods in the Producing Area of Radix Paeoniae Alha Materials

OBJECTIVE By studying the feasibility of the processing in the producing area of Radix Paeoniae Alha materials in the use of two kinds of the materials taken from two various producing areas,choose the optimal processing method. METHODS The content of paeoniflorin in Radix Paeoniae Alha Materials was determined by HPLC method and compared by comparative methods. RESULTS The content of paeoniflorin in the fresh Radix Paeoniae Alha, after being peeled, boiled, and dried in the local place was the highest, and the content of paeoniflorin in the materials of Anhui and Panan was 4.83% and 2.86% respectively. CONCLUSION The fresh Radix Paeoniae Alha has a decreased loss of the effective composition and has a higher paeoniflorin content with good quality if it is peeled in the local place.
