    Advances in Aspirin Dosage Form

    • OBJECTIVE To enhance the effect of aspirin and reduce its side effects on gastrointestinal tract, this paper guides the research of new dosage forms of aspirin. METHODS The significance, methods and results of different dosage forms are summarized by generalizing and contrasting. RESULTS The new dose forms include enteric coated aspirin, con-trolled-release and prolonged-release aspirin, compound aspirin, effervescent tablets, et al. Based on the analysis of the recent developments and problems, the prospects of the new dose forms are put forward. CONCLUSION Controlled-release and pro-longed-release aspirin is the trend of research, and the key is to choose suitable minor ingredients, simplify preparation technolo-gies, lower the cost and enhance the effect.
