Abstract
OBJECTIVE To optimize the extraction technology and condition of shikimic acid from pine needles of Cedrus deodara (Roxb.) G. Don. METHODS The extraction technology of shikimic acid was optimized by L9(34) orthogonal experiment with the contents of shikimic acid as index, and with the ratio of raw material to liquid, soaking time and extraction time as factors. RESULTS The optimal extracting process was adding 20 times of water, soaking 0.5 h, reflux 2 h. Under the conditions, the content of shikimic acid was 3.58%. CONCLUSION The optimal extracting process is simple, stable and practical.
