Analysis of the Composition of Crude Scutellaria Polysaccharides

OBJECTIVE To get a rough perception of the composition and the distribution of the molecular weight of crude Scutellaria polysaccharides. METHODS HPGPC and alcohol fractionation methods were used. RESULTS Crude Scutellaria polysaccharides were divided into two parts according to their ranges of molecular weight, namely, the macromolecule part and the micromolecule part. CONCLUSION The micromolecule part of the polysaccharides exhibits the character of pure substance which is exploitable.
