GC-MS Analysis of Volatile Oil Obtained from Two Kinds of Litsea Cubebas

OBJECTIVE The study can provide scientific theory for extraction and cultivation technologies of Guizhou Litsea cubeba. METHODS With steam distillation extraction method, cubeba fruits essential oil was extracted from the wild and cultivated fruits cubeba. The optimum conditions were determined by orthogonal test methods. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of cubeba fruits essential oil were carried out with GC-MS. RESULTS The optimum conditions were concluded by comparing the results of orthogonal test methods. And chemical components and relative contents were identified by GC-MS. CONCLUSION The chemical components of the wild and cultivated cubeba fruits essential oil were similar. And the cultivated Litsea cubeba contains much more essential oil than the wild. So it can be cultivated widely.
