Cost-utility Analysis of Recaticimab Combined with Statin in the Treatment of Non-familial Hypercholesterolemia

    • OBJECTIVE To conduct a pharmacoeconomic evaluation of recaticimab injection in patients with non-familial hypercholesterolemia based on China’s economic level and medical status.
METHODS Based on the observational data of cardiovascular event incidence in China and findings from the Remain-2 trial, a lifetime period was set, and the effect was expressed in quality-adjusted life years(QALYs). A Markov model was used to estimate the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio(ICER) to evaluate the economics of recaticimab injection. Univariate sensitivity analysis and probabilistic sensitivity analysis were performed to verify the reliability of the results.
RESULTS For the whole life cycle of recaticimab 150 mg q4w, the incremental QALY was 1.44, the incremental cost was 59256 yuan, and the ICER was 41097 yuan·QALY−1. For the whole life cycle of recaticimab 300 mg q8w, the incremental QALY was 1.49, the incremental cost was 54186 yuan, and the ICER was 36436 yuan·QALY−1. For the whole life cycle of recaticimab 450 mg q12w, the incremental QALY was 1.19, the incremental cost was 59512 yuan, and the ICER was 50070 yuan·QALY−1. The ICERs of the three different administration regimens were all lower than the threshold of 1 time the per capita gross domestic product(GDP)(95 749 yuan, 2024). Compared with statin monotherapy, they had obvious economic advantages.
CONCLUSION Under the threshold of 1 time China’s per capita GDP in 2024, recaticimab shows obvious economic advantages in the treatment of non-familial hypercholesterolemia, and the 300 mg q8w dosing regimen of recaticimab has the best economic performance.
