Advancing Research on Zhejiang Genuine Medicinal Materials, Promoting Innovative Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Industry

Genuine medicinal materials refer to those produced in a specific region after long-term clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine, which have better quality, more curative effects, more stable quality than those produced in other regions. Zhejiang Province is one of the important producing areas of Chinese herbal medicine in China, with a long history and rich resources. Under the comprehensive action of many factors such as the unique geographical location and climatic conditions in Zhejiang, the authentic medicinal materials in Zhejiang area with suitable origin, excellent varieties and outstanding curative effect have been formed. The special issue "Zhejiang Genuine Medicinal Materials Research" was launched, which carried out in-depth discussions on 5 themes, including "pharmacodynamic research", "ingredient research", "process optimization", "prescription compatibility", and "planting and cultivation" of Zhejiang genuine medicinal materials. From the aspects of biology, chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis and medicine, and combined with modern scientific research methods, interdisciplinary research was carried out to reveal the material basis and scientific connotation of Zhejiang genuine medicinal materials, and to provide a certain theoretical basis for further improving the quality and clinical efficacy of Zhejiang genuine medicinal materials.
