Research Progress in Mechanism and Evaluation of Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation

    • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a common sequela of acne, its pathogenesis is complex, its physiological mechanism is not fully understood at present. A variety of cell types, cytokines and growth factors are involved in its pathogenesis. It is not only difficult to improve and lasts a long time, which has a great impact on patients’ psychology and life. In this paper, molecular mechanism of post-inflammatory pigmentation, experimental models in vitro and in vivo, and extracts of Chinese medicine regulating related pathways were reviewed, in order to provide references for safe and effective application of Chinese medicine extracts to improve post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in patients.
