Overview of Traditional Chinese and Tibetan Medicine Lamiophlomis Rotata (Benth.) Kudo in Preventing and Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis

Lamiophlomis rotata (Benth.) Kudo(LR) is a precious medicinal plant on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is one of the commonly used herbal medicines in Tibetan, Mongolian, Naxi and other ethnic groups in China. Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2020 Edition states that it has the effects of promoting blood circulation and stopping bleeding, dispelling wind and relieving pain. Rheumatoid arthritis is a common disease in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, with a global incidence of 1%, there is no effective treatment method at home and abroad. Studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine and Tibetan medicine have the advantages of good curative effect, few adverse reactions, and long-term application in delaying bone destruction in rheumatoid arthritis. LR is a drug for expelling wind and relieving pain, which have good potential and development prospects for the prevention and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Therefore, this study intends to summarize the related herbal records and research status of the LR for the prevention and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, in order to provide a certain theoretical basis for the clinical use of the unique medicine for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
