Abstract
OBJECTIVE To differentiate the multiple-index quality between the Smilacis Glabrae Rhizome with two different colors by means of entropy-weight TOPSIS model and grey relation analysis. METHODS UHPLC was applied to determine the contents of astilbin in 32 batches of Smilacis Glabrae Rhizome, while contents of moisture, ethanol-soluble extractives and water-soluble extractives were detected as well. Meanwhile, a comprehensive assessment pattern for quality indexes was established by the use of entropy-weight method, grey relation analysis and their combination. And colorimetric values were measured to be linked to contents of the indexed-components evaluated by relativity for the medicinal pieces. RESULTS Three kinds of valuation methods turned out to perform primarily consistent ranking results, and red-cross-section Smilacis Glabrae Rhizome was tentatively better than the white ones in terms of quality. Moreover, as indicated by research on chromaticity and relativity, those in darker shade possessed higher quality mass. CONCLUSION The valuation models are constructed with integration of both of their characters, which can provide certain research base for the effective substances and its quality of Smilacis Glabrae Rhizome.
