Research on Training Method of Clinical Pharmacists of Traditional Chinese Medicine Based on Action Research Method

OBJECTIVE To explore the training methods of clinical pharmacists of traditional Chinese medicine and to provide ideas for the development of traditional Chinese medicine clinical pharmacists. METHODS The action research method and retrospective questionnaire research were used to explore the training mode of traditional Chinese medicine clinical pharmacists in The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of CM from 2017 to 2020, mainly from four aspects of theoretical curriculum, practice mode, teacher setting and assessment mode. RESULTS A set of training mode for clinical pharmacists of traditional Chinese medicine with the characteristics of The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of CM had been basically determined, including an 18 month schooling system with 6-month preparatory course system, practical teaching by two teachers of specialized combination of Chinese and western medicine, entrance examination, mid-term examination and elimination system combined with graduation examination, which ensured the students' ability of clinical work of traditional Chinese medicine. CONCLUSION According to the survey of different related groups, the satisfaction of the trainees in the training base of traditional Chinese medicine clinical pharmacists in The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of CM is increasing year by year. The research mode of action research method can promote the joint participation of researchers and practitioners, so that the training mode of clinical pharmacists of traditional Chinese medicine in hospital is more suitable for clinical practice and is worthy of promotion.
