Comparision of the Application of the Local Lymph Node Assay and Buehler Test in Evaluation of Skin Sensitization for Cosmetics

OBJECTIVE To explore the possibility of local lymph node test(LLNA) in evaluation for cosmetic products by compare the application of LLNA and Buehler test in evaluation of skin sensitization for cosmetics. METHODS LLNA and Buehler test in vivo were used to evaluate the standard positive control and two kinds of hair dyes on the market. RESULTS The result of the LLNA showed the SI data of two hair dyes were below 1.8 with negative result, which were consistent with the result of Buehler test. CONCLUSION Compared with the Buehler test, the LLNA has the advantages of short test cycle, test simple and objective evaluation, it is a good alternative method for evaluating skin sensitization of hair dyeing products.
