Study on Quality Standard of Yao Medicinal Damnacanthus Indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F

OBJECTIVE To establish the quality standard of Yao medicinal Damnacanthus indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F. and to provide experimental basis for its quality control of the medicine. METHODS The identification of Yao medicinal properties, microscopic characteristics, TLC and content determination method of Damnacanthus indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F. was conducted. The moisture, total ash, acid insoluble ash and extract of Damnacanthus indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F. were determined according to the general principles of Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2020 Edition (Part IV). RESULTS Damnacanthus indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F. under forest exhibited specific properties in characteristics, microscopic features and TLC results. The Yao medicinal Damnacanthus indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F. moisture was 7.4%-13.3%, the total ash was 5.4%-9.6%, the acid insoluble ash was 3.4%-7.8%, and the water-soluble extract was 13.3%-47.6%. Damnacanthus Indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F. had a good linear relationship in 20.6~144.2 μg·mL^-1(r²=0.999), and the average recovery rate was 98.38%. The content of damnacanfhal in 11 batches of medicinal materials ranged from 0.049% to 0.107%, with an average of 0.085%. CONCLUSION The established quality standard of Yao medicinal Damnacanthus indicu (Linn.) Gaertn. F. has good specificity, stability and reproducibility, which can be used for the quality control of Yao medicinal Damnacanthus indicus (Linn.) Gaertn. F..
