Application of Drug Subcontract Management System with PDA in Central Pharmacy

OBJECTIVE To set up the application of drug subcontract management system(DSMS) in the central pharmacy to realize the intelligent and efficient work efficiency of the whole process of oral medicine receiving from application for acceptance and warehousing. METHODS The module composition and function design of DSMS were introduced, and it was used in the inventory management of unpacked oral drugs. The working indexes of the system before and after one month were compared. RESULTS The system had the functions of drug requisition, acceptance and warehousing, drug sample retention, equipment dosing, drug inventory, drug stripping record printing, drug quality tracking, etc. After the DSMS was enabled, the operation of drug requisition, acceptance and warehousing, drug sample retention, equipment dosing, drug inventory and drug stripping record printing was changed from manual to intelligent, which saved human resources. The time of drug storage was greatly shorter than the original manual operation time, and the average time of drug addition was shortened from the original (3.20±0.25)min to (1.56±0.19)min, and the number of drug addition errors was reduced down to 0. CONCLUSION The DSMS has good stability and convenient operation, which plays a driving role in the automation and information construction of the central pharmacy, and plays a reference and promotion role in the intelligent management of the central pharmacy of other hospitals.
