Discussion on the Role of Clinical Pharmacists in Regulating and Promoting Off-label Drug Uses by the Practice of Medical Treatment of Calciphylaxis

OBJECTIVE To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in regulating and promoting off-label drug uses. METHODS By the instance that the clinical pharmacist successfully assisted the department of nephrology in the application of sodium thiosulfate and bisphosphonates for off-label use of calciphylaxis, to explain the important role of pharmacists in regulating and promoting off-label drug uses and to think about the role and value of clinical pharmacirsts in the field of drug use. RESULTS The clinical pharmacist successfully assisted the clinic to pass the application for off-label medication. CONCLUSION Clinical pharmacists have a wider scope of work and promotion in the field of off-label drug uses, which requires more attention and intervention.
