Prescription Characteristics of Chinese Patent Medicine of Eczema Recorded in Chinese Pharmacopeia and Its Clinical Guide(2015 Edition)

OBJECTIVE To analyze the prescription characteristics of Chinese patent medicine for eczema recorded in Chinese Pharmacopeia and its Clinical Guide(2015 Edition), and provide references for rational medication for clinical treatment of eczema. METHODS Gathering Chinese patent medicine for eczema recorded in Chinese Pharmacopeia(2015 Edition) and its Clinical Guide(2015 Edition), then made classification and frequency statistics. RESULTS There were 17, 20 kinds of Chinese patent medicines for external and oral use, which including 67, 94 herbs in total, respectively. The most common used formulas of these Chinese patent medicine for external and oral use were heat-clearing desiccating formula. CONCLUSION Heat-clearing desiccating are the main therapeutic principles of Chinese patent medicine for external and oral use in the treatment of eczema recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2015 Edition) and its Clinical Guidelines. The drugs for heat-clearing and drugs for inducing resuscitation in external formula, while the drugs for heat-clearing and drugs for invigorating deficiency in oral formula, are used more common.
