Research Progress of Arsenic Trioxide-related Combined Therapy in the Treatment of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of malignancy in women. Drug therapy and radiation therapy are commonly used in the clinical treatment of breast cancer. However, there are still problems of these therapeutic strategies, such as side effects and drug resistance. Arsenic trioxide is a first-line therapeutic drug for acute promyelocytic leukemia. Combined with other drugs, it also exerts an excellent curative effect on many solid tumors such as breast cancer and reduces the disadvantages of clinical treatment. This article reviews the research progress of arsenic trioxide combined therapy with chemotherapy drugs, hormonal drugs, nutritional supplements, traditional Chinese medicine, etc., as well as radiation therapy on breast cancer, in order to provide new ideas for drug combination research on breast cancer treatment.
