Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the intervention effect of Liqi Huatan Quyu decoction on hyperlipidemic hamsters, and explore the change of intestinal flora in hamsters. METHODS Hyperlipidemic golden hamster model was induced by high fat diet. The model hamsters were randomly divided into low, medium, high dose group and fenofibrate group. The contents of total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-c), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-c) were measured; liver histopathologic changes were observed by HE staining; intestinal microorganism total DNA was extracted to detect intestinal microbial flora. RESULTS The Liqi Huatan Quyu decoction could reduce the serum TC, TG and LDL-c levels, improve the degree of liver pathological changes. The results of 16S rDNA high throughput sequencing showed that the abundance and diversity of intestinal microflora were improved to some extent. The relative abundance of phylum thuringiensis and bacteriaceae decreased significantly, while actinomycetes and bacteroides increased significantly. CONCLUSION Liqi Huatan Quyu decoction can effectively improve the lipid level and pathological changes of liver in hyperlipidemia golden hamster. And to some extent it can recover the intestinal flora disorder of hyperlipidemia golden hamster. It may play a role in the treatment of hyperlipidemia by regulating lipid metabolism through intestinal flora.
