Pharmacist's Practice in Promoting Standardized Cancer Pain Treatment Based on the Rational Drug Use System

OBJECTIVE To summarize the experiences in the establishment of good pain management hospital and to further promote the standardized treatment of cancer pain. METHODS Through establishing the rule system of medication for cancer pain with rational drug use system and entrepreneurial clinical knowledge base system, clinical pharmacists prevented unreasonable medical advice behavior with the help of the prescription center, so as to regulate the use of analgesic drugs and improve patients' medication safety. In addition, clinical pharmacists regularly reviewed and dynamically analyzed the prescription of narcotic category I psychotropic drugs and inpatient cancer pain cases, to inspect the effectiveness of the system rules and to continuously improve the rule to promote the standardization of cancer pain treatment. RESULTS The qualification rate of the prescription of narcotic category I psychotropic drugs in hospital increased from 98.80% to 99.51% and the qualification rate of inpatient cancer pain cases increased from 91.36% to 97.89%. CONCLUSION Clinical pharmacists can effectively prevent unreasonable prescription by maintaining the medication rules with the rational drug use system and the entrepreneurial clinical knowledge base system, which can improve hospital pharmacy administration and pharmaceutical service, promote the establishment of the good pain management hospital.
