Study on Intestinal Absorption of Oxymatrine Phospholipid Complex by Everted Gut Sac Method

    • OBJECTIVE To compare the intestinal absorption of oxymatrine and its phospholipid complex in rats, and to investigate the effect of phospholipid complex on intestinal absorption of oxymatrine. METHODS The isolated everted intestine model was used to study the intestinal absorption characteristics of oxymatrine phospholipid complex. HPLC was used to determine the cumulative absorption of oxymatrine and oxymatrine phospholipid complex in rat duodenum, jejunum, ileum and colon with different dose. RESULTS The absorption of oxymatrine phospholipid complex in different intestinal segments was higher than that of oxymatrine. In the low dose group, the absorption of oxymatrine phospholipid complex in jejunum and colon was significantly higher than that of oxymatrine. In the middle dose group, the cumulative absorption of oxymatrine phospholipid complex in duodenum, jejunum and colon was significantly higher than that of oxymatrine. In the high dose group, the absorption of oxymatrine phospholipid complex in jejunum was significantly higher than that of oxymatrine. CONCLUSION Compared with oxymatrine, phospholipid complex can promote the absorption of oxymatrine in rats.
