Simultaneous Determination of Four Constituents in Imported Panax Quinquefolium L. by UHPLC

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a UHPLC method for simultaneous determination of four active components (ginsenoside Rg1, ginsenoside Re, ginsenoside Rb1 and ginsenoside Rd) in imported Panax quinquefolium L.. METHODS An Agilent Zorbax SB C18 column (2.1 mm×100 mm, 1.8 μm) was used, with mobile phase of acetonitrile as mobile phase A and water as mobile phase B (gradient elution) at a flow rate of 0.5 mL·min-1, column temperature was 30℃ and detector wavelength was 203 nm. RESULTS The four components showed good separation and linearity within the tested range. The mean recoveries were in the range of 95.7%-100.3% (RSD 1.4%-1.8%). CONCLUSION It provides a rapid and reliable UHPLC method which is suitable for the quality control of Panax quinquefolium L..
