Pharmaceutical Care and Administration During Construction of Standardized Treatment Demonstration Hospital for Cancer Pain

OBJECTIVE To share experience of pharmaceutical care and pharmacy administration during construction of standardized treatment demonstration hospital for cancer pain, and provide reference for other hospitals. METHODS Pharmaceutical care and pharmacy administration practice included guaranteeing supply of multiple drugs for cancer pain treatment, implementing informationized management of narcotic prescriptions and intelligent management of narcotic drugs, and exploring working mode for clinical pharmacists specialized in cancer pain treatment. RESULTS Types of drugs for cancer pain treatment increased, achieved informationized management of narcotic prescriptions and intelligent management of narcotic drugs, and working mode for clinical pharmacist specialized in cancer pain treatment was established. CONCLUSION Pharmacists can play an increasingly important role in multidisciplinary teams of cancer pain treatment.
