Anti-inflammation and Analgesia Effects of Combination Therapy with Benzoylaconine and Paeoniflorin

    • OBJECTIVE To research the anti-inflammation and analgesia effects of different combination therapy with different doses of benzoylaconine and paeoniflorin. METHODS In order to research the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of different combination therapy, the xylene induced auricles swelling model, the paws swelling test of rats caused by egg white, the hot-plate test and acetic acid induced writhing model were applied. RESULTS The auricles swelling in mice were remarkably suppressed in combination therapy of benzoylaconine and paeoniflorin(high-dose combination group)(P<0.05). In the paws swelling test of rats caused by egg white, at 1 h, the paws swelling in rats was remarkably inhibited in combination therapy of benzoylaconine and paeoniflorin (P<0.05 or <0.01). At 2 h, the paws swelling in rats was remarkably inhibited in middle-dose benzoylaconine group and high-dose combination group(P<0.05 or <0.01), compared with paeoniflorin group and high-dose benzoylaconine group, the paws swelling in rats was significantly relieved in high-dose combination group(P<0.05). At 4 h, the paws swelling in rats was remarkably inhibited in middle-dose benzoylaconine group and high-dose combination group (P<0.05 or <0.01), compared with paeoniflorin group, the paws swelling in rats was significantly relieved in high-dose combination group(P<0.05). In the hot-plate test, at 1 h and 1.5 h, the pain threshold of mice was markedly elevated in combination therapy of benzoylaconine and paeoniflorin (high-dose combination group)(P<0.05). The pain threshold of mice induced by acetic acid was markedly elevated in (high-dose combination group)(P<0.05). The number of writhing induced by acetic acid in mice was significantly reduced in combination therapy of benzoylaconine and paeoniflorin(P<0.01). Compared with paeoniflorin group and high-dose benzoylaconine group, the number of writhing in mice was remarkably decreased in high-dose combination group(P<0.01). CONCLUSION There are more obvious anti-inflammation and analgesia effect of combination therapy with benzoylaconine and paeoniflorin compared with single therapy with benzoylaconine or paeoniflorin treatment.
