Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the role of PDCA cycle in improving the rational use of opioid drugs in patients with cancer pain. METHODS The data of patients before and after PDCA cycle were collected to assess the effect of PDCA on the rational use of opioid drugs. RESULTS The rationality of opioid drugs use increased from 20.24% to 87.59%, strong opioids rational use rate increased from 34.19% to 91.20%, weak opioids rational use rate increased from 3.45% to 66.67%, opioid compound rational use rate increased from 6.12% to 62.50%. CONCLUSION PDCA cycle management approach effectively improves the rational use rate of opioid drugs in our hospital.
