Abstract
OBJECTIVE To review the current domestic and international research progress of pH sensitive nanoparticle drug delivery system for antitumor targeting therapy. METHODS Searching the relevant information both at home and abroad in recent years in the Pubmed and Google, elucidating the mechanism of pH sensitive nanoparticle delivery system for antitumor therapy, such as superparamanetic iron oxide nanoparticles, micelles, dendrimers and so on. RESULTS pH responsive nanocarriers could accumulate in tumor tissue through the EPR effect and release drug in weak acidic tumor extracellular fluid or by endocytosis in the cytoplasm or lysosomal. These systems could promote the targeted delivery of drugs, while reducing systemic side effects and improving the efficacy of chemotherapy. CONCLUSION The development of pH sensitive nanoparticle drug delivery system with targeting, high efficiency and safety has broad application prospects in antitumor therapy and become one of the main research directions in the field.
