Abstract
OBJECTIVE To enhance the knowledge of neonatal thromboembolism, and to provide rational antithrombotic therapy by summaring the clinical practice of clinical pharmacists participating in a case of neonatal femoral artery thrombosis. METHODS Basde on consulting literatures and guidelines, clinical pharmacists formulated and optimized the antithrombotic therapy, assessed the risk-benefit ratio of drugs, and provided pharmaceutical care. RESULTS The antithrombotic therapy developed by clinical pharmacists and clinicians cured the baby with no adverse drug reactions occurred. CONCLUSION The clinical pharmacist's participation in clinical treatment of rare disease will ensure the safety and effectiveness for drug utilization.
