Advance of the preparation and biological activity of flavonoid phospholipid complex

To address the problems that flavonoids are difficult to be absorbed and utilized due to their high polarity and poor lipid solubility, the modification of flavonoids has attracted much attention in recent years. The development of flavonoid phospholipid complex, which can significantly enhance the lipid solubility of flavonoids, promote the absorption in the intestine, and improve the bioavailability, is a key to address these problems. This article reviewed the preparation, pharmacokinetics, and functional activity of flavonoid phospholipid complex, aimed to provide technical supports for the further research and clinical application.
