Investigation of Physiological Characteristics and Resources Status of Paris L. in Huayin City

OBJECTIVE To understand and grasp the physiological characteristics and the resources status of Paris plants in Huayin city. METHODS Through literature analysis and interview survey, combined with field investigation, the medicinal plant group, the natural distribution, physiological characteristics and the resources status of Paris in the mainly distribution area of Huayin city were field surveyed, recorded, collated and analyzed. RESULTS There were two species and two variations of Paris plants distributed in Huayin city, the plants had good ecological suitability. The rhizome of one species and two variations of Sect. Euthya (Salisb.) Franch. medicinal plants were used as Chonglou, but the natural resources were close to deracinate. CONCLUSION In Huayin city, Paris polyphylla var. latifolia and var. apetala are identified as new distribution records. Consequently, the medicinal plant distribution record of Paris in Huayin city is completed, and the development and protection of Sect. Euthya (Salisb.) Franch. natural resources should be improved as soon as possible.
