Determination of Arietic Acid, Emodin, Chrysophanol and Triptolide in Shenyanning Tablets by HPLC

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a quantitative method for parietic acid, emodin, chrysophanol and triptolide in shenyanning tablets by HPLC. Methods the mobile phase for determining parietic acid, emodin, chrysophanol was methanol-0.1% phosphoric acid(70∶30), the UV detection wavelength was 254 nm, while the mobile phase for triptolide was acetonitrile-water (25∶75), the UV detection wavelength was 220 nm. Lichrospher C18(4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 mm) column was used for the determination, and the flow rate was 1.0 ml·min-1.RESULTS The linear range of parietic acid, emodin, chrysophanol, and triptolide was 1.83-14.64 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 9), 2.895-23.16 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 8), 7.625-61.00 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 8) and 1.52-24.32 μg·ml-1 (r=0.999 6). The average recover was 103.2%, RSD=1.73%(n=9), 98.6%, RSD=3.94%(n=9), 98.3%, RSD=2.54%(n=9) and 99.61%, RSD=2.83%(n=9) for parietic acid, emodin, chrysophanol, and triptolide. CONCLUSION The method is accurate, reliable and apecific, can be used in the quality control of Shenyanning tablets.
