    Effects of Xuebijing Injection on Tubular Apoptosis and Associated Protein Expression in Sepsis Induced Acute Kidney Injure Rats

    • OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of early application of Xuebijing injection in sepsis induced acute kidney injure(SI-AKI) by observing tubular apoptosis and Bcl-2/Bax expression.METHODS Fifty-four male SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:sham group (sham), sepsis group and Xuebijing group, eighteen rats in each group. Each group were divided into 3 sub-groups, six rats in each group. After model was established, the phases of 12, 24, 48 h were respectively regarded as observation point, and blood biochemical parameters, renal blood flow, renal pathological changes and renal tubular injury scores were measured; renal tubular cell apoptosis was determined by TUNEL method and integrated optical density (IOD) was calculated. The expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax were detected by Western blot.RESULTS Xuebijing injection could significantly improve renal function, hemodynamics of kidney, pathological changes and reduce tubular cell apoptosis. Tubular damage scores and the IOD had a significant difference in Xuebijing group compared with CLP group(P<0.01). Meanwhile, Xuebijing injection could increase the expression of Bcl-2, and inhibit the Bax, keep the balance of Bcl-2/Bax ratio; there were significant differences(P<0.01) in Xuebijing group compared with sepsis group.CONCLUSION Early application of Xuebijing injecton may improve renal dysfunction and the pathological changes, reduce the tubular cell apoptosis, keep the balance of Bcl-2/Bax ratio in SI-AKI.
