Abstract
OBJECTIVE To optimize prescription ratio of pomegranate ellagic acid gel by orthogonal design. METHODS Using orthogonal design, propylene glycol, carbomer-940 and gel pH level as influencing factors, the appearance, spread stretchability, uniformity and centrifugal were used as index, which was taken to selected for the optimum formula. RESULTS The indicators achieved optimal with 1.5% Carbopol-940, 15% propylene glycol and gel pH in the range of 4.0~5.0. CONCLUSION After the orthogonal design, the optimized method is simple, stable and reliable, and has the feasibility of production.
