Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the efficacy of cetylpiridinium chloride gargle in chronic tonsillitis operation during perioperative period. METHODS All of 100 cases with chronic tonsillitis were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 50 cases in each group. The observation group use cetylpiridinium chloride 15 mL rinse the mouth and pharynx for 1 min after each meal in perioperation period. The control group using normal saline rinse for 1 min with the same method. Sore throat and the wound surface bacterial detective rate of the two group patients wereanalyzed. RESULTS Compared with control group, in the observation group, the pharyngeal pain was better(P<0.01), the wound surface bacteria detection rate was lower(P<0.01). CONCLUSION cetylpiridinium chloride gargle as a treatment of tonsillectomy perioperation period, remission of the surgical wound infla mmation have a certain effect of postoperative infection control.
