Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To introduce the formulation method and application practice of the prescription review rules in Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.
METHODS Prior to the launch of the hospital's prescription review system, the pharmacist silently run data cleaning based on system rules, and explored multi-source evidence of pediatric medication to construct a review rule library with pediatric characteristics. A rule maintenance and optimization process was established to ensure the continuous improvement of pediatric medication review rules from a system and process perspective.
RESULTS After standardized operation, the qualification rate of outpatient and inpatient prescriptions and medical orders reached over 95% in 2023, with clinical satisfaction rate of 98.7%. The number of reported adverse drug events with incorrect prescription/medical orders significantly decreased.
CONCLUSION The reasonable setting and continuous optimization of pediatric prescription review rules based on multi-source evidence can help pharmacists accurately review prescriptions, improve the efficiency of pharmacist review, standardize doctor's prescribing behavior, and improve the level of clinical rational drug use.
